Simmer down.

Some days I miss this little baby.
They really do grow way too fast.
Simmer down time.

An appetizer.

A little tease before the main dish!

Weekend Wrap-Up

This past weekend we were in Baltimore visiting my sweet twin sister and her silly marylander boyfriend. We left Wednesday night and returned yesterday. We had a grand ole time. It was eventful, fun, lazy, and boring. Isn't that what vacations are made of? I will get to the pics one of these days, but in the meantime I will leave you with some mental picture....

We were boarding the plane and I couldn't find my phone...Landon and I made a mad dash back to see if we left it on the seat.
[cue mission impossible music]

Landon decided that he would wake up at 4AM and have a giggle party.
[cue  sleepless in seattle music]

We visited Georgetown Cupcakes (DC Cupcakes).
[cue charlie and the chocolate factory music]

We devoured some mouth watering Cap'n Crunch French Toast.
[cue the hangover music]

Hope my pictures turned out prettier than that. We shall see.

The Good. The Bad. The Ugly.

It's Friday.
So, that means...we made it.
We made it through the good, the bad, the ugly.

The Good:
Landon is well on his way to walking around the world and back.
I vacuumed the floor.
I started some laundry.
Landon's bedtime is now 9pm.
Two weeks until vacation.
I only wore my hair up once this week. (Opposed to 3 last week--that's saying a lot.)
My little sister turned TWENTY ONE. Wowsers. Times flies. Too darn fast.

The Bad:
Landon has found his vocal chords and he's not afraid to use them.
Landon has been whining a lot. I did a little research and some articles suggested that he's not getting the correct attention....so yesterday was a pretty rough day for me. I felt like a failure as a Mom. I am on way to correcting this and hoping for the best, but please say a prayer for me. I really need it.
Landon's bedtime is now 9pm.
I never got around to mopping the vacuumed floors.
Nor did I finish the laundry.
TWO weeks until vacation. Blast.
Landon played in a puddle for the first time and I didn't get pic.

The Ugly:
My car has a big boo boo.
(I will add a pic soon.)

Green Envy.

Ok, so I have never been a huge fan of the color green. Until, NOW!
Like, I'm totally obsessed with this charming, quirky, cool as a cucumber shade. I think I have pinned every paint color that comes close to any shade of green. So, I was deciding on what color to pain the kitchen and the dining room....both have a gajillion of paint samples taped to them right now, and I had this grand idea.....

Why do we paint the whole down stairs in different shades of green?!
Kind of like ombre through the house.

Genius? Or downright crazy? Any insight it appreciated.

Obviously it would be very similar shades that compliment each other, such as these:

With these complimenting colors:

What do ya'll think?

Karma, Dirt, and In-Laws.

We had an eventful weekend 'round here.
Not that we had the calendar booked up or anything like that but weird stuff happened.
Wanna hear all about it? No? Well, too bad!

Friday: Started the day with backing into my husbands car. I just put the car in reverse and let her fly. Never even looked in the mirror. Mind you, this was just after I kissed my husband goodbye. Duh! No real damage but still, duh. Friday evening, I baked nine cakes. Yep, I said nine. Like, the number before ten. I was up to my ears in sugar and flour, literally.

Saturday: Decorated the mentioned nine cakes for an engagement party. It was a three tiered cake. I'll post pics. I think it turned our really cute! Saturday evening: dinner with the in-laws. Doesn't that constitute as weird?

Sunday: Went to church and while waiting in line to leave, someone backed into my car. Karma is real, people! I am living proof. We spent the rest of the day here and there, ending it with some grilled chicken, stick collecting, dirt eating action, right in our own backyard.

All in all it was a pretty great weekend, besides all the bumper car action.
